Updates, Treatments and Store Opening Schedule.
Hello,
It’s fair to say this has been a challenging start to the year. We appreciate your patience over recent weeks and apologise for the limited updates, but we’re now in a clearer position to share more as we move into Spring.
In mid-January, Eddie was admitted to hospital for exploratory surgery following the discovery of a growth in his neck. This was found to be cancerous, and the procedure identified the primary source as a small area at the base of his tongue.
Unfortunately, complications following surgery led to a further three-week hospital stay in February, followed by an extended recovery period at home. As a result, we have been unable to open the store.
At present, Eddie is in reasonable health. However, from April 20th he will begin an intensive course of radiotherapy at Weston Park, Sheffield's specialist Cancer Hospital, taking place five days a week for three weeks. Due to the demands of this treatment, the store will remain closed during this time, and with a recovery period of approximately 4–5 weeks, we then expect to reopen fully towards the start of June.
Before Eddie starts his radiotherapy we will be holding a general opening on Sunday 12th April from 1400HRS UK but there will be no Everest models available at this opening.
We hope you understand that, as a small family-run business, it’s not possible to operate the store while Eddie focuses on his treatment and I (Dave) support his care and schedule.
We remain available for customer service and correspondence, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re hopeful the store will reopen in early summer, and we have an exciting range of watches planned for later in the year, including new releases across several collections.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support—it truly means a great deal. Please keep an eye on our social channels for further updates.
Take care,
Dave & Eddie
