U.S. Tariffs - Removal of De Minimis Exemption

NOTICE FOR CUSTOMERS FROM THE USA.

From May 2nd the "De Minimis" exemption for items valued under $800 has been removed, meaning ALL items (watches, bracelets & straps) where the Country of Origin is Hong Kong/China will be subject to tariffs and extra charges.

This will affect all purchases from Time Factors placed by customers from the USA but to varying degrees as our watches are comprised of components sourced from different countries, all of which have been subjected to different levels of tariffs.

We are a small company who have always worked to relatively small margins within the industry so we are unable to absorb the costs associated with the new tariffs.

Country of Origin breakdowns for each model are now displayed on the product page for each watch at the bottom of the description.

A high percentage of our cases and bracelets are made in Hong Kong, which the U.S. Administration classifies as China. This means the percentage value of these components will be subject to the tariffs placed on China, which at the time of writing has been set at 125%.

The movements in our watches are either Swiss (Sellita & ETA) or Japanese (Miyota) so the tariff charged on the percentage value of the watch will vary depending on which of these is used in a particular model. Both Switzerland & Japan currently have their tariffs set at 10%.

All straps ordered separately are also subject to the Hong Kong tariff.

These tariffs will be collected by UPS locally before delivery so please make sure your contact details are correct when placing an order. There may also be an added charge on top of the tariff issued by UPS for processing services.

We have always valued our customers and friends from the USA and hope that these measures are in effect for short period of time.
