This is a very complicated watch which would be extremely difficult to set without the instructions; I know, I've tried!

Citizen Navihawk

Important Note!

The analog time cannot be set independently of the digital time and so the digital time must be set first in order to set the analog time.

To Set The Time

  • Press and hold B button down for 3 seconds, the hour and minute hands will retract to the 12 o'clock position. This will permit an unobstructed view of the digital displays during the setting procedures. (after the digital time is set, press B button to release hand retraction and return the hands to normal time). Press and release the M button to move the mode indicator hand to time (TIME) then set the city code to the one representing your time zone. Press and release the A button to change the city code eastward and the C button to move westward. When the city code has been selected, pull the M button out. Hour, minute and second figures will all flash. Press and release the C button to select daylight or standard time (summmer indicates daylight) and the hour hand will move accordingly. Press and release the A button, seconds will blink. Reset the seconds by using the C button. Press and relase the A button and the minutes will blink. Use the C button to advance the minutes. For fast advance, keep the C button held down. Press and release the A button and the hours will blink. Use the C button to advance the hours. Be sure to note AM or PM indication. Press and release the A button and 12H or 24H will blink. Use the C button to select AM/PM time (12H) or military time (24H). Press the M button in to finalise the setting of digital time. All other cities are adjusted automatically when one city is set to the correct time, including the UTC analog display. Press the B button to release the hand retractor and the hands will move to the correct time. After you have set the digital time and released the retractor, if you want the analog (hands) time to indicate the time in your zone (city code), press buttons A and C simultaneously. The digital time (your time zone) will be switched to the analog display and vice versa. City code and digital time can now be changed to your time zone by using the A button (eastward) or the B button (westward). Both analog and digital time will now match.

  • If you want a time zone different to that shown on the digital display to be shown by the analog hands, move the digital time to the desired zone and repeat the switching function above.

To Set The Calendar

  • Using the M button, move the mode indicator hand to CAL. Note the city code. If needed, use the A button to move the city code eastward, and C button to move westward. Pull the M button out to the setting position and the month number will flash. Change the month by using the C button. Press and release the A button and the date will flash. Change the date by using the C button. Press and release the A button and the year will flash. Change the year by using the C button.

  • Press the M button in to finalise the calendar setting. The year will disappear and the date will be shown in its place.

To Set The Alarms

  • Use the M button to move the mode indicator to AL-1. Use the A or C button to select the correct city code. Pull the M button out to the setting position and the display will blink. Use the C button to set the alarm on or off. Press and release the A button and the hours will blink. Set the hours with the C button. Press and release the A button and the minutes will blink. Set the minutes with the C button. Press the M button in to finalise the alarm setting.

  • Alarms 2 and 3 are set in the same way. When the alarm sounds, press any button to stop sounding.

Using The Chronograph

  • Use the M button to move the mode indicator to CHR. Press and release the A button to start or stop time measurement. Whilst the chronograph is running, press the C button for split time. Display now shows elapsed time for 10 seconds while continuing to measure elapsed time internally. After 10 seconds, the display reverts to counting the true elapsed time and continues running until the C button is pressed for split time again or the A button is pressed to stop.

  • After the chronograph is stopped, press the C button to reset to zero.

Using The Timer

  • Use the M button to move the mode indicator to TMR. Pull the M button out to the setting position. Use the C button to set the timer in one minute increments from the maximum 60 minutes down to one minute as desired. Push the M button in to finalise setting. Push the A button to start or stop timer countdown. Push the C button whilst the timer is running for flyback (to timer set time) to restart automatically. The timer will emit a sound signal when the countdown has reached the set time.

  • Push the C button when the timer is stopped to return to timer standby.
